The
RS-SE-201 module is a complete IEEE
802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi module for in-home
smart-energy device communications.
It provides low-power wireless transport
to any device with a serial interface
for data transfer. The RS-SE-201 hardware
integrates a MAC, Baseband, RF transceiver,
power amplifier, a frequency reference,
and an antenna. The embedded firmware
implements all WLAN protocol and configuration
functionality, networking stack, and
HTTP server to make a fully self-contained
802.11n WLAN solution for a variety
of applications. No networking functionality
or WLAN configuration is required on
the host system or data source. RS-SE-201
provides advanced Wi-Fi security, ultra-low
power operation and standards compliant
wireless connectivity to in-home smart-energy
devices and appliances. As a wireless
modem, it originates and terminates
TCP and UDP connections, enabling a
variety of applications at low cost
and small footprint. It uniquely provides
connectivity in the single stream 802.11n
mode, preserving overall network throughput.
